About
Our Why. One of the most pressing imperatives facing business organizations and broader society today is building workplaces that are truly inclusive—along lines including race, gender, and class—and thereby transforming organizations and the broader world.

Workplace inclusion is central to the strategic success of world class organizations and yet, how best to address this imperative is far from fully known. Different organizations have pursued markedly different approaches to harnessing the potential of diversity, often with markedly different outcomes even amidst shared good intentions. Whether and how our current time differs from earlier efforts at diversity, equity, and inclusion is a source of vigorous debate. But there is no question that we now face an urgent sense of collective concern about how to harness workplace inclusion to better the world through business.
To play a more prominent role in this effort, the Tuck School of Business launched the Initiative on Workplace Inclusion in May 2022. The initiative evolved into a Research Center in 2025. For 125 years, Tuck has confronted the most complex and challenging issues through its research, teaching, and application of ideas. While Tuck has long engaged with workplace transformation, we aspire for greater impact.
The Research Center for Workplace Inclusion will identify, frame, and debate important issues. It will support research that generates knowledge that can be disseminated among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers. It will inspire our students to help them succeed as leaders.
